Algonquin Inòdewiziwin
Child and Family Centre

EarlyON centres offer free drop-in programs for caregivers and children from birth to 6 years old. At this Child and Family Centre both Indigenous and non-Indigenous parents and caregivers have access to high quality Indigenous services that will support them in their role as their childrens’ first teachers, enhance their well-being and enrich their knowledge about early learning and development. In particular, children and parents will both learn the Algonquin language, history and culture.

Located in Classroom 2 in Maynooth Public School, parents check in at the School Reception and an Algonquin Inòdewiziwin team member will bring you to the classroom where parents/caregivers can learn and play with your child, meet people or get advice. Early Childhood Educator, Diane Martin, and Language and Cultural Coordinator, Michele Guadry will offer support to the program. Elder and Planner, Ada Tinney will attend programs with other elders to share teachings and local legends of the Algonquins.
